I wonder if you have seen that extraordinary documentary called My Octopus Teacher? It is making waves around the world and has already won a number of prestigious awards. Now it has been nominated for an Academy Award in the Documentary category and so I thought it would be interesting to repeat the People of Note programme with the composer of the music to the film. It tells an amazing story of a form of friendship that develops between a diver and film maker Craig Foster and an octopus just off Simon’s Town. The music score was written by KEVIN SMUTS who is an award winning film score composer who continues to impress with his ability to understand and enhance the emotional intensity of the films he works on.
