Historical significance of Human Rights Day

As South Africans prepare to celebrate Human Rights Day tomorrow, the significance of why we commemorate days such as these might not be understood by those who were not directly affected by the oppressive apartheid regime. The other aspect to the day is tragic incident known as The Sharpeville massacre which occurred in the 1960’s on the 21 March
So beside the day being an annual public holidays there are lessons that you and I might be able to take from this.
