American Educationist takes a look at FeesMustFall

--:--
Fees Must Fall has dominated the national conversation in South Africa over the past year, since we saw the explosion of this student movement in October 2015. As we know, protests have erupted across the country over the past few weeks, with students demanding free, decolonised education at universities. As experts debate the possibility of free education for South Africa, students are turning to government and university management for answers.

Today, we hope to get an outsider’s perspective. Joining us now is Sara Goldrick-Rab, a professor of Higher Education Policy & Sociology at Temple University, and Founder of the Wisconsin HOPE Lab, the US’s only translational research laboratory seeking ways to make college more affordable.
POLITICO magazine named Sara one of the top 50 thinkers in American politics. South Africans will remember her from an interview on The Daily Show with Trevor Noah

Guest : Professor Sara Goldrick-Rab
Position: Professor in Education.
