#PODCAST: Star College learner Aditi Sookdhaw features prominently at the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists

By Newsbreak Producer Taliesha Naidoo - A promising young scientist is merging agriculture with science to prove the benefits of polymer bioplastics over man-made synthetic bioplastics. Aditi Sookdhaw, from Star College in Durban, has won the second special prize for innovation in environmental engineering at the recent Eskom Expo for Young Scientists. The matric learner conducted scientific research into the production of sustainable polymer-bioplastics from avocado seeds. Polymer-bioplastics are plastic materials produced from renewable sources, such as vegetable fats, sawdust or even recycled food. Sookdhaw says she feels honoured to have her research recognised by some of the best in the science and engineering fields...
