#PODCAST: SARS urge citizens to comply with #tax returns, as they introduce a new auto-assessments system

The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has urged South Africans to comply with their tax returns this year. Briefing the media yesterday, SARS Commissioner Edward Kieswetter says its newly introduced auto assessments will allow taxpayers to get their refunds within 72 hours. This will enable SARS to complete tax returns for more than three-million individuals through data collected from third parties. Taxpayers will start receiving auto assessment SMSs from next month and they can either accept or edit the SMS. Amina Accram reports...
