#PODCAST: As South Africa reaches its COVID19 peak - government meet later today to discuss the future of schools

By Newsbreak Producer Shanell Daniel - Education Expert Professor Labby Ramrathan says focus should be placed on learning and not on attending school. This as Grades 3 and 10 were expected to return to school today, however the department of education made a decision not to go ahead with this plan. Education Minister Angie Motshekga will meet with the ANC today ahead of her expected announcement this week on whether she will keep schools open amid concerns of the high coronavirus infection rate in the country. Ramrathan says the uncertainty of the Coronavirus does not have to delay learning outside of school boarders.
