#PODCAST: Tributes pour in for popular Durban sports physician - Dr Mahomed "Shorty" Moolla

By Newsbreak Executive Producer Salma Patel - A well-known Durban Sports Physician - who was a renowned innovator of sports science medicine - has passed away. Dr Mahomed Moolla - popularly known as Shorty Moolla - served as team doctor for South Africa in the Commonwealth Games in Canada in 1994. Moolla also served as the chief medical doctor at the Africa Cup of Nations - AFCON - in 1996 and in the same year was appointed chief medical officer for Team SA at the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Dr Moolla was also a registrar at the then King George Hospital in Durban. His son, Yusuf Moolla says his father passed away from a heart attack that was NOT related to COVID-19...
