#PODCAST: DA demand answers from Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma - on how the COVID-19 relief funding has been spent

By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - The Democratic Alliance (DA) will request that the Portfolio Committee on Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) ensure that Minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, gives account on how the R20 billion COVID-19 relief funding has been administered and spent by municipalities. The DA allege among others, that the Chris Hani District Municipality in the Eastern Cape has been paying an inflated amount of money for personal protective equipment or PPE. They cite that the municipality paid R175 per 500ml bottle of sanitizer while it was available for R50. DA shadow minister of COGTA - Haniff Hoosen says unless government urgently intervenes, the COVID-19 stimulus package meant to save lives will leave the vulnerable and desperate out in the cold...
