The eighth suspect in the VBS Mutual bank saga is expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Specialised Commercial Crimes Court in Ekhuruleni today. The suspect, believed to have been a senior executive at the now defunct bank was arrested on Friday and faces 47 charges of fraud, theft, money laundering, corruption and racketeering. Seven other people were arrested last month and have already appeared in court. The arrests relate to the alleged theft of more than two-billion-rand from the bank.
