The State is confident that it has a strong case in the miltimillion rand Estina corruption case as former Free State Agriculture chief financial officer, Sylvia Dlamini, and businesswoman, Malikomo Mohapi, are each released on 10-thousand rand bail at the Bloemfontein Regional Court. They stand accused of corruption, fraud and money laundering worth more than 240-million-rand. In November 2018, the NPA provisionally dropped charges against eight people relating to the Estina project. Current ANC Secretary General Ace Magashule - who was Free State Premier at the time - has denied any wrongdoing in relation to the project. Free State NPA spokesperson, Phaladi Shuping, says this time around they have a watertight case...

TRANS: (The decision to put the matter on the court roll was taken after we were convinced that the investigation officers have provided us with a lot of investigation that we think we can proceed with for trial. So that's why this morning we informed the court that most of the investigation is done, we only have to decide on a date for trial.)
