According to the World Health Organisation (WHO), almost 1 in 10 people fall ill every year from eating contaminated food, and nearly a third of all deaths from foodborne diseases are in children under the age of five years. In commemorating the second World Food Safety Day on 7 June marked this past Sunday - the WHO together with the UN Food And Agriculture Organisation (FAO) - seek to inspire everybody to help prevent foodborne risks.
