Moody's downgrades South Africa to junk status

Economists say Moody's decision to downgrade South Africa to junk status need not further affect the country's economy, as much of the damage has already been done. The credit rating agency has stripped South Africa of its bond grading, citing constraints on the government's finances and a weak economy as the reasons for the downgrade. The move has done a devastating blow to the country which has just started a 21-day lockdown in an effort to stop the rapid spread of the coronavirus. Naledi Ngcobo reports
