We look at the rights of consumers and suppliers as the country deals with COVID-19

The outbreak of COVID-19 and the resulting travel bans and restrictions on gatherings has resulted in a flood of cancellations of flights, accommodation and other services. According to the Consumer Goods & Services Ombud, these cancellations will clearly have a negative impact both on consumers, suppliers and the economy. The office says there is a widespread confusion about the rights and responsibilities of affected parties in relation to claims for refunds.
