#PODCAST COVID-19: South Africa ready to declare a state of emergency should the need arise

Currently, 61 people have been infected by Covid-19 in the country. Mkhize is among 14 ministers who are briefing the media in Pretoria, on the details of government's interventions to curb the spread of the coronavirus. President Cyril Ramaphosa announced last night that all schools would be closed from Wednesday and gatherings of more than 100 people are prohibited. He also declared the virus a national disaster and banned foreign nationals from the countries most affected by the coronavirus - Italy, Iran, South Korea, Spain, Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom and China from travelling to South Africa as from 18th March 2020.
