Brett Wilkinson

Mr Brett Wilkinson joined Channel Africa which then was Radio RSA in 1986 as a journalist responsible for syndication and a programme called ‘World at One’. In 1988 he became head of Export Programmes unit for the languages English, French, Portuguese, Afrikaans and Hebrew. The programmes were fed into 6000 United States stations and 300 Canadian stations via satellite. In 1990 after the change of name to Channel Africa, Brett took charge of the revised Syndication unit. Bret moved to the Programmes section in 2000 and by 2004 he was promoted to the position of Executive Producer. He later on moved to lead a Current Affairs flagship programme, ‘African Dialogue’. He retires after a dedicated service of 34 years. Throughout his service, Brett has been of great assistance to other tasks outside his duty. He would, for example, be recording interviews and programmes from other sister stations for use in different programmes of Channel Africa. This, he did with unimaginable passion and will leave a void in content production in Channel Africa
