GORMLEY - LORI ACKERMAN ON PIPELINE PROJECTS - FEBRUARY 24
Looking at the news lately you might think the entire province of B.C. is united in opposition to the Coastal GasLink pipeline project, but a handful of protesters do not speak for the entire region. Lori Ackerman is the mayor of Fort St. John, B.C., and has been a tireless advocate for the energy industry and pipeline construction. She was named Canadian Energy Person of the Year in 2019 by the Energy Council of Canada due to her efforts to strike a balance between energy development, community representation, and First Nations partnerships. Ackerman joins Gormley now to discuss the strong support for pipeline construction in B.C., which has gone largely ignored in the recent coverage of the nationwide protests.
