GORMLEY - STF PRESIDENT ON NEGOTIATIONS - FEBRUARY 18

The Saskatchewan Teachers' Federation held a sanctions vote this month and are waiting for the results to return to see if job action will be coming soon. The teachers are still without a contract, and salary as well as class size and composition have been the main sticking points for the STF. Meanwhile, the province published its conciliator's report which recommended class size and composition not be included in their new contract. Conciliation Board Chair Arne Peltz recommended both sides return to the table for further talks, but the STF says they won't return to the table until the province changes its position and includes class size in the collective agreement. STF President Patrick Maze joins Gormley to discuss how teachers are feeling and the next steps in the negotiation process.
