International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation
Today marks International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. Annually observed on the 6th of February, the day seeks to raise awareness on FGM as one of society's harmful practices and call for its total elimination. Globally, it's estimated that some 200 million girls and women alive today have undergone some form of FGM.
