Ending Female Genital Mutilation

Harmful cultural practices against women will yet again be under the spotlight tomorrow as the world commemorates International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation. Despite years of global advocacy against FGM, the practice remains prevalent affecting an estimated two-hundred million girls worldwide. In an effort to continue raising awareness on the effects of the practice, the United Nations Population Fund or UNFPA and the UN child agency will host a debate at the Women's Jail in Johannesburg's Constitution Hill.
