Soul City Institute for Social Justice

Soul City Institute for Social Justice is an organisation that aims to improve the quality of life and health of young women and girls and the communities they live in, in Southern Africa. It is driven by the recognition that women's rights are human rights and are fundamental to health and development. Lebo Ramafoko is the CEO of this organisation, she has been at the helm since 2011 after having joined Soul City in 1995 – she is a gender and social activist. Ramafoko is an internationally-recognised defender of women’s and children’s rights whose social justice work has seen her appear before the United Nations Security Council.
