#PODCAST: Global warming and climate change blamed for the strange weather phenomenons experienced recently in KZN

By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - Experts believe that the strange occurrence of sardines in the summer, four tornadoes ripping through KwaZulu-Natal within weeks and the soaring 45-degree temperatures in some parts of the country, is a result of global warming and climate change. The World Meteorological Organization says 2019 was a year of exceptional global heat. Average temperatures for the last decade are set to be the highest on record and this year is on course to be the 2nd or 3rd warmest year on record. Attorney and member of the Centre for Environmental Rights, Ruchir Naidoo says a drastic change is needed by 2030, or temperatures could rise to much higher numbers. Naidoo says that climate change alone, may undo the last 50 years of global development...
