HIV Regime

One in five people in the world on HIV medication will now be able to switch to a simpler, more affordable and more effective treatment. This follows an announcement yesterday that the South African government will roll-out a new treatment regime introduced with the support of the global health initiative, UNITAID. South Africa, with the largest HIV epidemic in the world, accounts for around twenty percent of the people on antiretroviral therapy, the biggest proportion globally.
