Gupta Waterkloof landing approval was a misunderstanding

The former head of State Protocol, Bruce Kolwane has attributed his supposed approval of the landing of the Gupta plane at the Vaterkloof Air Force base to a misunderstanding between himself and his personal assistant. -- He was testifying before the Commission of Inquiry into State Capture in Johannesburg during which he was asked about an e-mail in which his personal assistant had indicated to the International Relations assistant, William Matjila that Kolwane had telephonically approved the request for the landing. -- Matjila had earlier indicated that the necessary documentation for the approval was not in place.
