#PODCAST: EFF to take Trevor Manuel matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal

SABC News and Current Affairs — By Newsbreak Producer Taliesha Naidoo - The Economic Freedom Fighters' application for leave to appeal the ruling in Trevor Manuel's defamation case has been dismissed by the Gauteng High Court today. In a statement in March, the EFF accused Manuel of nepotism and corruption in influencing the appointment of new Sars commissioner, Edward Kieswetter. In May, the court ruled that the statements were defamatory and false and ordered the EFF to apologise and pay a fine of 500-thousand-rand. Speaking to the SABC - EFF Secretary-General, Godrich Gardee says the party intends to exercise their right to partition the Supreme Court of Appeal for leave to appeal and that they will do within the next 24 hours....
