The Weekend View looks at violence in schools

The 19-year-old Forest High School learner, accused of murder and attempted murder will spend the weekend in jail. The learner from the Turffontein school in the south of Johannesbur stabbed a fellow learner to death. Judgement on his bail application will only be handed down on Monday at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court. The Grade 11 learner is alleged to have stabbed three fellow learners - killing one of them. He then fled the scene and police later arrested him in Dobsonville, Soweto. He is facing one count of murder and two of attempted murder.
