Chiefs and Pirates to redeem themselves in the Carling Black Label Cup

Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates will attempt to redeem themselves in the annual Carling Black Label Cup, when the two giants meet at FNB stadium in Johannesburg on the 27th of July. The cup, which was launched in Johannesburg on Tuesday (28 May 2019), will return this year after it took a break last year owing to the FIFA World Cup in Russia. Pirates have won the trophy four times since it was launched in 2011, while Chiefs have bagged it three times. Former England international and Arsenal legend Ian Wright was a guest at the launch. Pirates coach Milutin “Micho” Srejodevic said the cup will kick-start their season while Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Shaun Bartlett said changes needed to be made in the team.
