Credit to Polokwane City for reviving my international career - Chigova
Polokwane City first choice goalkeeper George Chigova says the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season is his best as he is closing in on 100 league games for the club. He adds that the fact that his country Zimbabwe will be at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt in June makes the century even sweeter. If selected in City’s match against Black Leopards at the Peter Mokaba stadium on Sunday, Chigova will become the club’s third centurion after Jabulani Maluleke and Puleng Tlolane. Chigova credits his club for reviving his international career. Chigova admits a clean sheet on Sunday and three points will be a perfect way to cap his century. The 28 year old keeper reveals that his AmaZulu counterpart Moeneeb Joseph has always been an inspiration to him. In his four seasons with Rise and Shine he has kept 30 clean sheets and conceded 117 goals. Chigova says no striker has terrorized him like SuperSport United forward James Keene in this time. Chigova admits it has been a emotional week for him as he had to reflect on his journey in the Premier Soccer League. Chigova thanked the Rise and Shine chairman Johnny Mogaladi and his management team for taking a risk on him.
