Why I want to see Ekstein at Chiefs next season - Middendorp
After missing two matches due to the ongoing and protracted contract renewal negotiations between him and Kaizer Chiefs, Pule Ekstein returned yesterday as Amakhosi swept past Cape Town City, winning 2-0 and advancing to the Nedbank Cup semi-finals. Playing in front of a sold out Mbombela stadium crowd, Ekstein the crowd favourite scored the winning goal and was instrumental in seeing Amakhosi going through. With the 28year-old’s contract running out at the end of June, he’s free to commit to any other team and there’s been reports linking him to arch-rivals Orlando Pirates. Chiefs coach Ernst Middendorp likes him a lot and he gave him a passionate hug when he substituted him.
