I doubt if players still want to come here because we not winning trophies - Cardoso

Daniel Cardoso has been a regular at Chiefs this season, featuring in more than 29 matches in all competitions. It was not a surprise that Baxter recalled him to the team for this squad, he describes the mood in the dressing room in Libya and knows fully well that he will have to continue fighting for his place in the squad going to Egypt. Cardoso also believes that the competition for places in the Bafana will start at Chiefs where some of the players who have been in the national set-up before and involved in these qualifiers like Ramahlwe Mphahlele will fight hard to make the AFCON squad. The 30 year old defender has been at Chiefs for almost four years now and the club hasn’t achieved anything in this period. The former Free State Stars utility player, who has also played under three different coaches at Amakhosi joked that he’s doubting if some players still want to join an underachieving local footballing giant.
