South African football gathered in PMB to remember Arthur Bartman - Khune+Robinson

Football personalities from across South Africa converged on Pietermaritzburg on Tuesday (26 March 2019) to celebrate the life of the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Arthur Bartman, who passed away last Tuesday. Aged 46, Bartman was from the KwaZulu-Natal capital and worked there as Maritzburg United’s goalkeeper coach until November last year. He died due to a relapse of meningitis after spending nearly a month in an East London hospital. Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune was amongst those that addressed the gathering at the City Hall on the day Bartman was supposed to celebrate his 47th birthday. Mamelodi Sundowns Goalkeeper coach, Wendel Robinson said he was devastated to hear of his passing. Bartman will be laid to rest on Saturday. His funeral service will take place at 11am at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Nahoon, in East London.
