Heated exchange at the Sundowns vs Lobi stars press conference - Mosimane

Mamelodi Sundowns Coach Pitso Mosimane was interrupted during the press conference after their 3-0 win against Lobi Stars, in the CAF champions league Group A clash at Lucas Moripe stadium in Atteridgeville on Saturday night. Mosimane was talking about the importance of South African teams doing well on the continent against their African opposition, when Stars assistant Coach Evans Ogenyi interrupted him, and then the scuffle broke with the CAF media officer restoring calm. The win ensured that Sundowns qualified for the quarter-finals with a game to spare. They need to avoid a heavy defeat against Wydad Casablanca to finish on top of the group. Sundowns lost to Stars 2-1 in the first match, but Mosimane says it is a national agenda to beat Nigerian teams. The Brazilians were allegedly denied a training pitch in Enugu when they visited Nigeria. Mosimane says SA teams always treat their opponents fairly but do not get the same treatment away. The 2016 CAF Coach of the year also highlighted the major differences between the CAF champions league and UEFA champions league. He said most African teams use dirty tactics to win. The 2016 champions failed to reach the quarter-final last year after they finished third behind Wydad Casablanca and Horoya. Mosimane says there has been a major improvement in the team this year. Sundowns won all their three home games convincingly. They beat Wydad 2-1, Asec Mimosa 3-1 and Stars 3-0. Mosimane says it is important to win all the home matches.
