Mosimane backs Notoane for the u23 job
Mamelodi Sundowns Coach Pitso Mosimane has backed the newly appointed under-23 Coach David Notoane to succeed. The former Sundowns reserve league coach is appointed to help the team qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in Japan. SA qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil. Notoane has been with the team before. Sundowns are topping the league for the first time since the beginning of the season, after beating Cape Town City 3-2 last night at home. The Brazilians have 39 points from 20 matches, just a point above Bidvest Wits with a game in hand. They have won the league three times in the past five years, also finishing second in two seasons. Mosimane says they have been consistent. Sundowns had an opportunity to top the log on three occasions before, when they lost to Amazulu and drew against Polokwane City and Bidvest Wits. Mosimane says there was a time last night when he felt they will blow the opportunity again. The PSL champions started the match without an out and out striker. He fielded the attacking four players Lebogang Maboe, Gaston Sirino, Anthony Laffor and Themba Zwane. Mosimane says the attack is bringing him goals.
