President Cyril Ramaphosa appoints special committee to oversee operations at Eskom

President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced the formation of a special committee to oversee operations at Eskom. The President says the committee will provide him with daily reports. This is after Eskom implemented the most severe stage of loadshedding across the country. In a report presentedthis week , the Department of Public Enterprises warned that Eskom is technically insolvent and will cease to exist at current trajectory by April 2019. Eskom has now managed to get emergency diesel stocks to help ease the current energy crisis. Meanwhile, Former CEO at Eskom Matshela Koko says the current situation speaks to gross incompetence at the top.
