Safe sex has been an overly emphasized matter from many moons ago. People have been encouraged to practice safe sex always to prevent unplanned pregnancies and getting infected with diseases, most commonly being HIV/AIDS and many other STI’s, An infection transmitted through sexual contact, caused by bacteria, viruses or parasites.
Sexually Transmitted Infections most commonly include Chlamydia, Gonorrhoea, Herpes, Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis and many others.
The advantage with the diseases mention above is that when coming to STI’s, with proper and adequate treatment STI’s do heal in time. But unfortunately there are those people who would opt to take chances, decide not to do anything to treat the STI’s.
In the absence of symptoms, it may be tempting to ignore an STD in the hopes that it will go away on its own, resolving to take care of it if the symptoms get worse. With some STDs, though, there isn’t a progression of symptoms; the disease could go from symptomless to life-threatening with nothing in between.
