People of Note - Raphael Wallfisch

The distinguished British Cellist Raphael Wallfisch paid a visit to Cape Town in November to perform the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Cape Town Philharmonic. Raphael Wallfisch is regarded as one of the most celebrated cellists performing on the international stage and was born in London into a family of highly respected musicians – his mother the cellist Anita Lasker-Wallfisch and his father the pianist Peter Wallfisch. Raphael has recorded nearly every major work for the cello and many of Britain’s leading contemporary composers have written works especially for him.

Raphael Wallfisch will be Rodney Trudgeon’s guest on People of Note this week. Sunday just after the 6pm news and again on Thursday at midday.
