The Public Investment Corporation has been grilled about the secrecy around a five-billion-rand loan it recently granted Eskom, as the power utility struggles to keep the lights on and implements loadshedding.

The PIC board and management appeared before Parliament's financial watchdog SCOPA until the early hours of this morning. The PIC handles about one-point-eight trillion rand in government pensions.
