Notshe back for Province ahead of Currie Cup Final
Western Province will be looking to end the Currie Cup season unbeaten, when they host the Sharks in Saturday’s final at Newlands Rugby Stadium. Province sailed through the round-robin stage of the tournament, winning all six of their games, although they almost came unstuck against the Blue Bulls in the semi-final last week, needing extra time to qualify for the final. The Sharks, on the other hand, lost just once on the road to the final, and that was against Province when they lost 50-28 at Newlands at the end of last month. Province coach John Dobson has made three changes to the team, with Sikhumbuzo Notshe, Jano Vermaak and Josh Stander returning to the starting line-up. With Stander, Damian Wiliiamse and SP Marais in the team, Province are not short of kicking option, and Dobson says they certainly want to use their abilities against the Sharks. While Province beat the Sharks convincingly in the pool, Dobson says that game was probably the biggest challenge during the round-robin.
