Seemo sa Myopia mo baneng le Dr Nombuso Mathe – Ophthalmologist

Today on our health feature we have invited our health expert to discuss one of the condition that are known to be hereditary and most commonly found amongst kids, the short-sightedness of kids, or defined as a condition in which the visual images come to a focus in front of the retina of the eye resulting especially in defective vision of distant objects.
Myopia is a common refractive error, it's easily treatable with contact lenses as well as eyeglasses, and it's not strictly hereditary.
The exact reason why some children become near-sighted and others do not is not fully understood, it appears heredity is a factor, but not the only one. If both parents are near-sighted, there is a greater risk their children will be near-sighted, too.
