A Young South African Scientist use traditional methods to tackle mental illness
Traditional healing methods have a potential of tackling mental illness. This is according to a young South African scientist who is also undertaking training to practice as a traditional healer. Sinethemba Makanya, Science communicator and PhD student at Wits Institute for Social and Economic Research, has written a doctoral thesis titled Ukugula Kwabantu: A study of Traditional Healers' constructions of Mental Health.
