Religion has divided many countries across the globe. The African continent itself has seen a rise in sectarian violence. The South African Commission for the Promotion and Protection of Cultural, Religious and Linguistic Communities, CRL recently hosted a dialogue on the issues of African Religion in Johannesburg. Earlier this month three men armed with guns and knives slit the throats of three worshippers at a mosque near Durban. The deadly attack was believed to show signs of extremism.
