Chad opposition figures rejects new government
Some opposition figures in Chad have rejected the appointment of a new transitional government by the Military Council. The Council took control of the Sahel country after the death of President Idriss Deby-Itno last month. Deby's death on the frontlines in a fight against rebels ended his 30-year rule and sparked a crisis in the country which has long been an ally of the West in the fight against jihadists. The Opposition has criticized the new government saying it is a continuation of an old order they hope to erase. For more on the new government and the Opposition's concerns, Channel Africa spoke to Hoinathy Remadji, security expert in Chad.
