GORMLEY - DR. MARKUS BRINKMANN - APRIL 30

Scientists at the Global Institute for Water Security have had great success predicting COVID-19 rates in Saskatoon by sampling wastewater, and now they're testing for three different variants of concern as well. Dr. Markus Brinkmann says they were not expecting their predictions to be so accurate, which he says may be due to Saskatoon's wastewater treatment system. The program has also expanded to a number of First Nations in Saskatchewan, and other cities across Canada are looking to implement similar testing programs. Brinkmann joins Gormley to give us an update on his work.
