PODCAST Reaction from @CASACZA as a SCA ruling could see former president #JacobZuma pay his own legal bills

By Newsbreak Producer Tashlan Naidoo - The Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC) says the state's funding of Jacob Zuma's legal fees demonstrates the extent of state capture and how public funds have been misappropriated during his term in office. CASAC were reacting to the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein dismissing the former president's appeal against a judgment that the state isn't liable for the legal costs incurred by him in his personal capacity. In 2006 and in 2008 Zuma submitted requests to the State Attorney for legal assistance at the state's expense. The SCA said that it was only in March 2018 that the EFF and the DA had become aware of the asserted legal basis for the funding, of which they then opposed.
