Exactly a year ago on this day - South Africa went into a national lockdown in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. For many South African children the lockdown has left them feeling sad, lonely and eager to return to a life before the virus. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused death, hunger, homelessness, isolation and a complete overhaul of life as we know it. In the past year, the country recorded more than one-point-five-million-cases of the Corona Virus and more than fifty-two-thousand deaths.
