Dealing with Gender Based violence
RSA President Cyril Ramaphosa has called Gender-based violence is South Africa’s second pandemic after the corona virus. GBV reportedly increased dramatically since the government moved the country to lockdown Level 3 on 1 June 2020. Ramaphosa said 21 women and children had been killed in the past few weeks. According to crime statistics released in 2019, 2,930 women were murdered in a 12-month period from 2017 to 2018, amounting to one murder every three hours.
