Ezibukwayo no Smangaliso Khumalo

Sma Rajoale-Kumalo is based in uMlazi, KZN. As a multidisciplinary artist, Kumalo records his ritual performances through video, installation and photography. Influenced by the conundrum of a strict Christian upbringing by his paternal grandmother who eschewed Zulu traditions, his grandfather promoted his African Zulu/Sotho culture and teasingly called him Bussman for being brown. As a queer black man, his work is rooted in depicting unreceptive social mores such as religion and culture that demand heteronormative sexuality.

Nqobile Hlongwane well known as Nqobiengwane was born in Durban. Grew up and lived at KwaNdengezi a township west of Durban. Growing up she lived and spent Most of her years with siblings. Growing up life was normal and did everything like every child this was until life took an unexpected turn when she was traveling from Durban to jhb and met with an accident that would see her lose her arm. After this change of events life as what she knew to be normal had to change and I had to adapt to the ways of living. Today she stand before you as a wife, a student, a business woman and a woman who can do anything as well as everything.

Langa has broken new ground for South Africa’s musical masculinities. Presently in the limelight as Deezer’s Next Artist of 2020, Langa is set to complete the year recounting the forces that propelled him skyward from the very first note -- showing us a man brimming with love, power, purpose and pain in a seminal debut album set for a mid-year release.
Graduating from the National School of Arts where he studied Dramatic Arts for three years and Contemporary Music for his final two years, Langa went on to refine his technique and vocal health by studying a year in formal classical singing and training at Rhodes University in 2013. In 2014 he enrolled at the University of Cape Town's South African College of Music to study Jazz Performance under the guidance of renowned artist and vocal teacher Amanda Tiffin.

A conversation with Simphiwe Majozi (AKA SBU wakuZalo)

Simphiwe Majozi was born in the south coast region of Kwa Zulu Natal in a village called Mthwalume In 1989 he started participating in the entertainment industry at the age of 7 in a community arts project called Siyeza Cultural Group which was formed by his older brother Mr Xolani Majozi where
he was doing a character of Smoko he was also a dancer and a singer at the time. In 2002 he then moved to Durban to pursue his dream in entertainment where he studied Drums and contemporary dance in a community-based project in Kwamashu called Kwamashu Community Advancement
Project (KCAP). In 2007 he then went to UKZN to join the Ukusa learnership program where he studied drums again, in 2009 he went to study Marketing Management in Universal College Outcomes (UCO) in Petermaritzburg where he obtained a diploma in Marketing. When he eventually completed his studies and he then started working as an intern at Sold Out Media then known as (XME) where he continued with his acting, dancing and singing in his spare time while going for auditions in various openings. He eventually he got himself a character in a production called Have We Been Heard, directed by Bheki Mkhwane which was staged at the Durban ICC in May 2014 the show featured the likes of Celeste Ntuli, Zakhele Msibi, Hamilton Dlamini, Thembi Mtshali, Velephi.
