Our guest today is Dr. Lerato Matsaunyane, a Plant Molecular Biologist turned Molecular Breeder in the Plant Breeding Division of the ARC at the Vegetable and Ornamental Plants (ARC-VOP) campus. She holds a D.Phil. in Biochemistry from the University of Johannesburg and an MSc in Plant Science from the University of Pretoria.

This morning we celebrate a woman who has made a mark in the space she occupies. Dr. Kgomotso Poopedi, PhD: Microbiologist and Post-Doctoral Research Fellow. Dr. Kgomotso Poopedi is a postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Biotechnology (BMBT), exploring the prospect of using indigenous South African plants for the treatment of non-communicable diseases, particularly cancer and diabetes.
