These are young Africans doing amazing stuff on the ground to improve the lives of others, like Silas Adekunle from Nigeria who co-founded and is CEO of Reach Robotics, a company that creates a digital platform for entertainment and education. What they do contributes to “the Africa We Want” of Agenda 2063. Agenda 2063 is the AU’s blueprint for development which envisages a free and prosperous Africa in fifty years.

In this edition of Africa of the Future we focus on the last SADC multi-stakeholder Water, Energy, Food Nexus dialogue which took place in Johannesburg late March 2019. We find out what it means and its objectives. SADC’s WEF nexus dialogue happens every two years and brings together experts, academia and government representative to share ideas on how to manage water, energy and water resources in a holistic and coordinated manner. We feature various stakeholders, including Ashwin Sitaal of the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research based in Pretoria, South Africa.

Whether Africa in general is regressing or progressing in how it conducts elections

In this week’s edition of Africa of the Future, we focus on the disputed elections of 24 March 2019 in the Comoros, which was described by major multilateral organisations such as the European Union and African Union as lacking in credibility and transparency and rejected by the opposition. Africa's scarce water resources

In week’s edition of Africa of the Future, we focus on challenges Africa faces with regard to scarce water resources featuring Chris Dickens of International Water Management, a global non-profit organization based in Sri Lanka with five offices on the continent. We also feature Ander Berntell, executive director of 2030 Water Resource Group, a public-private civil society initiative bringing together multinational companies in food and beverage industries, development agencies, the African Development Bank, the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation. It has a presence in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
