The Green Economy: Opportunities and obstacles from public and organisational perspectives

A Panel Discussion - Simon Zadek is a Visiting Scholar at Tsinghua School of Economy and Management, Senior Fellow at Global Green Growth Institute, advisor on sustainability issues to the World Economic Forum focused on climate finance and sustainable consumption; an Honorary Professor at the University of South Africa; and an Associate Senior Fellow at the International Institute of Sustainable Development. He is the author of a number of publications, including the award-winning book “The Civil Corporation”. Jim Petrie is Director: Energy and Green Economy in the Dept of Economic Development and Tourism, WCG. In that role he is part of a team developing the Province’s Green Economy Strategic Framework. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Cape Town, and Emeritus Professor at the University of Sydney. Rashid Toefy is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), a leading convention centre that is known for its ambitious environmental management programme. Rashid also serves on the Board of several organizations, including Cape Town Tourism and the Cape Town Partnership, and he is a member of the United Nations Global Compact Advisory Board.
