31 May – "Glad Tidings to Strangers" is a programme that looks at the cultural norms Muslims practice and espouse which contradicts Islamic commands. It will air on Sunday afternoons for one hour at 5pm and the proposed approach is to look at Quran and hadith verses. The spiritual programme is inspired by the hadith in which the Nabi Muhammad (pbuh) said in a translation: “Islam initiated as something strange, and it will revert to its (old position) of being strange. So, glad tidings to the stranger!” [Muslim]. Topics will be broad and will focus on education, polygyny, zakah, hijab, niqaab, dating, unity, trust in Allah, judgement, rejection and the pursuit and payment of Islamic knowledge amongst others.
